CHICAGO

we got a weekend away for our 6th anniversary. (thanks mom and dad!) It was amazing! We had so much fun just bumming around the city worrying only about ourselves for awhile. However around every corner there was something to remind us of our girls we missed them very much. Places they would have loved to see, stores they would have just gone nuts in, and families just like us trying to have dinner in a restaurant. It just made us realize how lucky we are to have each other and yet not feel totally complete without them around! Here are some pictures of our trip!

hotel room with a great view because our first room was occupied when we walked in! opps!

the view

After we caught the "loop", "CTA", or rapid, as we call it, we walked through tunnels, buildings, walkways, and whatnot to get to our hotel. We freshened up, caught a taxi, and went to Maggiano's for dinner. The taxi driver recommended the place and we were very happy with it!

We got up early Saturday and went to Shedd's Aquarium. It was very interesting and a constant reminder of our girls because they would have had a great time there. After that we walked around and hit Michigan Ave "shopping central." No major purchases, mostly just t-shirts for the girls.

We waited for an hour to eat the famous stuffed pizza and it was SOOO worth the wait! Yum!

Saturday night we were not very hungry because of the amazing stuffed pizza we ate so we just went to the John Hancock lounge, got some drinks, and enjoyed the view!

Sunday we went to Navy Pier. The weather was gorgeous so we just walked around the pier and sat at a few benches to enjoy the view. After that we made a long trek back to our hotel, stopped at a deli for lunch, then grabbed our bags and headed to Midway airport. It was the perfect getaway and just what we needed! Thanks again mom and dad for a great weekend and taking care of our girls and dogs for us! :)

Red Wagon Farm

We went to Red Wagon Farm for Terri's birthday. It was a beautiful fall day! We went on a hay ride, ate some good corn, and picked out pumpkins. The girls got their face painted, played in the hay, and ran around in a hay maze.
