California Trip

Our trip was amazing!!!  The weather was great, we had a blast with the Brlans, and we were so sad to come home!  There are way too many pictures to post and we were soo busy there is just too much to write.  We visited the San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, Legoland, and Safari Park.  We also went to the cities La Jolla and Coranodo.  Mike golfed, the girls and I hung out at the pool and somewhere in between all of that Mike and I did some gambling (no, we didn't win).
This was the view from our rooms

In the morning, if we had bread, the girls would go out and feed the ducks.  However, they didn't have to go far on most days because they were always right on our patios.  Twice we had birds hopping around in our room looking for food because we left the screen door open.

The Butterfly Project

The Wheeler Family sent the girls a butterfly net for their birthdays.  So in May we sent away for the caterpillars.  Then we watched them get big and fat and hang upside down.  Just a few weeks later we had about 8-10 butterflies flying around in the net.  Livi took them in to share with her K. class before we let them go. (which Mike and I then found out that her class had a net just like ours in the classroom? :{)  Needless to say we are working with Liv on sharing and talking about her day with us. Anyway, here are some pictures of the process and letting them go.  Thanks Aunt Mara, Uncle Josh, Ella and Brooklyn...we had a lot of fun with this project!

The girls would always comment on all the poop in the cups!!

When we let them go we actually got to hold them and watch them fly away.

One flew out and landed on Maddies back.  She was not ok with this :{  She liked holding them but I think the idea of it being on her back was scary.

Liv's Graduation

For Liv's graduation the Kindergartens performed on stage and sang some cute songs.  Then we went back to her room and said goodbye to her teacher and friends. It was a good year and Liv did great!  We were very pleased with her report cards.  Way to go Liv, you BIG first grader!! :}
